How to play Bike Getaway
You ride a bike through the real streets of Podkowa Leśna, a garden town near Warsaw, and its neighbours – Owczarnia, Otrębusy, Żółwin, Kanie and the edges of Milanówek and Brwinów. The view is from above and the bike rides on by itself.
Steering. Swipe in the direction you want to go (or use the arrow keys or WASD). The bike takes that way at the next crossroads; a small arrow on the street ahead shows which way it will go. Swipe backwards to turn around on the spot. You can also tap the map – the bike will turn towards the point you tapped.
Dogs. Dogs from the gardens chase you along the streets by the shortest way. They are a bit slower than you, but they never slow down in corners – sharp turns and U-turns cost you speed. If a dog catches you, the run is over. Arrows at the screen edge show dogs that are close but out of sight.
Targets. The top bar names a real place – a WKD station, a church, a park or a crossroads of two streets – and the distance along the streets. Each target reached gives a bonus and sends one more dog after you. Chestnuts are worth 5 points, ridden distance also counts. A bone makes all dogs nearby stop and chew for a few seconds.
Trains. WKD trains run on the real line through town. When a train comes, the barriers at the level crossing go down – wait or find another way.
Once per run you can watch a short video to shake off the dogs and ride on.
